Starting this semester, MonTREP will begin publishing a peer-review academic journal each semester that will provide an opportunity for students to have their work published and highlight the uniqueness of our student body. The details for the journal can be found below:
•Submissions must be between 3,000 to 5,000 words (not counting sources)
•Submissions must be well documented using the Chicago-Turabian format
•Submissions must be related to terrorism (i.e. history, cyber-terrorism, CBRN, public policy, political theory, etc.)
•Submissions are expected to be of high quality, well-documented, and scholarly.
•Papers written as a requirement for classes are welcome, but must have received higher than an A- grade and must be revised and edited to fit our requirements.
•The first submission deadline is March 23, 2014 at 5pm
•After receiving suggestions for revisions, the final copy is due May 10, 2014 at 5pm.
•Publication Date: Fall 2014
The journal will be reviewed by a counsel of your peers, as well as professors from MonTREP, and will offer you an outlet to have your work published. It should go without saying that this a great opportunity to add unique value to your resume and to introduce your colleagues to terrorism-related issues that may otherwise be overlooked.
To Submit Your Work:
Any student who wishes to participate should e-mail their submission by the first deadline to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “MonTREP Journal of Terrorism Studies.”
