Center for the Blue Economy Professional education and research to promote ocean and coastal sustainability

Rachel Christopherson

Program Manager

Rachel joined the CBE staff in June of 2014, returning to the Monterey Institute after four years away.  Rachel worked at MIIS from 2001-2010 for the Graduate School of Translation, Interpretation and Language Education as Dean's Assistant then Non-Degree Program Coordinator.  Rachel left MIIS in 2010 to pursue a position at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA, as Director of Graduate Admission.  Although Washington state was beautiful, it was not home, and she returned to the Monterey area in June with her husband Casey, their two cats, and Nertle the turtle.  "I'm so glad to be coming home to the Monterey community and especially thankful to be given the opportunity to support the Center for a Blue Economy.  The work the CBE is doing is amazing and I am thrilled to contribute to this team."
