Welcome to the Graduate School of Translation, Interpretation, and Language Education. This school houses some of the pre-eminent work in language being done in this country and we're looking forward to your participation in our programs.
The only program of its type in the US, the Translation, Interpretation, and Localization Management program prepares students to be some of the world's best translators, localization specialists, and community and conference interpreters. Our graduates are sought after by companies, agencies, and governments around the world to serve their translation, localization, and interpretation needs.
The Language Teacher Education program is considered one of the top in the country, preparing graduates for careers as language teachers, program coordinators, curriculum and assessment specialists, and language researchers. We're particularly proud of our specialization offerings in Language Program Administration (LPA), Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL) and International Education Management (IEM) which further enhance the skills of our graduates.
The Language Studies program offers professionally-relevant language courses for our students pursuing degrees in policy and business. These language courses, some of which are offered in our renowned "Monterey Model" format, provide opportunities for our students to enhance their language skills while exploring topics relevant to their degrees.
Whichever program interests you, I'm sure that you'll be impressed by the preparation and focus of our dedicated faculty who will help to ensure that you gain the knowledge, skills, and experiences you need to succeed in your career.
I look forward to meeting you!
