The Joint MBA/MA in International Policy and Development program prepares students for a professional path in business strategy and operations to function effectively across borders while working in international policy and development. Rather than earning a single business degree, students earn two degrees: an MBA in Global Impact Management and an MA in International Policy and Development.
The joint-degree program builds foundational and advanced skills in business, including strategy and operations, marketing and finance, as well as international policy and development concepts in economics, leadership, and research methods. Through blending public and trade policy-based knowledge with business competencies, the joint degree provides the skills you need for increasing business efficiencies and effectiveness.
If you’re interested in managing public organizations, leading policy and program analysis, designing development models that address economic, trade, or environmental issues, a joint degree will give you the credibility and confidence to succeed as an international policy and development professional.
Within the 20-month MBA option, students can complete the 80-credit joint degree in five semesters with an average course load of 16 credits per semester. Students qualifying for the accelerated one-year MBA can complete the 70-credit joint degree in four semesters and one additional summer semester with an average of 16 credits taken during regular terms and a six-credit capstone in summer. With both options, students obtain 24 credits of core international policy and development coursework.
You will have access to faculty members who are experts in fields such as international economics and trade, data and policy analysis, organizational sustainability, sustainable development, development practice, social change leadership, and human security.
Foreign language use is built into select courses of both degrees.
