The Joint MBA/MA in International Environmental Policy program prepares students for a professional path in business strategy and operations to address sustainability challenges, risks, and opportunities. Rather than earning a single green MBA or sustainable MBA, students earn two degrees: an MBA in Global Impact Management and an MA in International Environmental Policy.
The joint-degree program builds foundational and advanced skills in business and finance, as well as in the economic and policy concepts you need to tackle global environmental challenges.
If you're interested in starting a social venture, leading a corporate sustainability team, or designing and implementing a business model for a government or nongovernment organization, a joint degree will give you the credibility and confidence to succeed as a sustainable business professional.
Within the 20-month MBA option, students can complete the 80-credit joint degree in five semesters with a course load of 16 units per semester. Students qualifying for the accelerated one-year MBA can complete the joint degree in four semesters and one additional summer semester. With both options, students obtain 24 units of core environmental sustainability and policy coursework. To learn more, view the curriculum overview »
You will have access to faculty members who are experts in fields such as sustainable development, social venture business models, ESG risk, biodiversity conservation, coastal and ocean policy, watershed planning, environmental and natural resource economics, energy technology, and global environmental governance.
Foreign language use is built into the core courses of both degrees.
