Language Teaching Certificates
Certificate programs are available both to current MATESOL or MATFL students and to language teaching professionals seeking additional training or certification.
Language Program Administration Certificate (LPA)
The LPA certificate program prepares students to administer language programs or schools. It includes courses in teacher education and supervision, budgeting, accounting, and marketing. The LPA certificate is not offered by any other TESOL program in the US.
Computer-Assisted Language Learning Certificate (CALL)
The CALL certificate program enables graduates to manage and develop curriculum for language learning programs utilizing computer technology. It includes courses in computer-assisted instruction and assessment, language software evaluation, distance learning and delivery, and use of the Internet and other technological resources for language teaching.
TESOL or TFL Certificate
The Monterey Institute of International Studies offers 17-credit Graduate Certificates in TESOL and TFL for those who do not require a masterís degree and who wish to focus on more practical courses.
Students who complete an MA in TESOL or TFL at the Monterey Institute may elect to enroll for an additional semester to complete a supplemental 14-credit Certificate in either TFL or TESOL to complement their degree.
