Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey

International Education Management (IEM) Specialization

Students walk to class in the Morse Building, where flags are displayed for each country that's represented within the MIIS student body.

Our Institute students enrolled in the MA in TESOL/TFL have the opportunity to complete a Specialization in International Education Management.

By adding this 16-credit specialization to their studies at the Institute, students broaden their expertise and open up additional career avenues.

International Education Management Specialization Requirements:
Principles and Practices of International Education (2)
International Education Program Design and Assessment (3)
International Education Marketing, Recruitment, and Enrollment Management (3)
Budgeting for Educational Organizations (2)
Staff Management in International Context (2)
International Education Management electives (4)

Note: TESOL/TFL students who have taken curriculum design will not be required to take International Education Program Design and Assessment and may instead opt for any three credits of international education management elective. Communication in Multicultural Settings (3) is recommended.
