Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey

TESOL/TFL Specialization

MIIS students give language lessons to high school students at International Education Day.

International Education Management students have an outstanding opportunity to take advantage of the Institute's strength in the field of language teaching.

Students enrolled in the MA in International Education have the opportunity to add a 17-credit specialization in Teaching English as a Second or Other Language (TESOL) or Teaching Foreign Language (TFL). The addition of this specialized training will provide students with broader professional expertise, as well as additional career avenues.

Students with extensive experience and education in TESOL/TFL may qualify to complete the Language Program Administration specialization. Students can earn a specialization in addition to the MA IEM degree in four semesters.

For more information on these options, see the TESOL/TFL webpages or contact Dr. Lynn Goldstein.
