MA in International Education Management

Our three-semester master’s program prepares students to pursue careers in the growing field of international education management.

International Education: A Growing Field

The growth of study abroad and international education programs in the past ten years has fueled the demand for professionals with advanced training. Increasingly a master's degree is required for entry level positions in the field.

Our International Education Master's Program

Our three-semester International Education Management program includes a two semesters at the Monterey, CA campus followed by a 4-6 month professional practicum in the U.S. or at one of 39 locations abroad. Through our curriculum, students gain a wide variety of knowledge and skills related to program management, higher education administration, student services and affairs and intercultural communication. They also study a language of their choice.

Practica & Professional Experience

Our students gain professional experience through the required international education practicum. They work with study abroad programs, colleges and universities, youth exchange programs, ESL or language programs, and government agencies around the world. Through a partnership with Middlebury Schools Abroad, our students can assist in running study abroad programs in Russia, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Spain, France, Cameroon, Egypt, Jordan, China, Japan, Chile, Mexico, and Israel.
