Our three-semester master’s program prepares students to pursue careers in the growing field of international education management.
The growth of study abroad and international education programs in the past ten years has fueled the demand for professionals with advanced training. Increasingly a master's degree is required for entry level positions in the field.
Our three-semester International Education Management program includes an academic year at the Monterey, CA campus followed by a 4-6 month professional practicum in the U.S. or abroad. Through our curriculum, students gain a wide variety of knowledge and skills related to program management, education administration, and intercultural communication. They also study a language of their choice.
Our students gain professional experience through the required international education practicum. They work with study abroad programs, colleges and universities, youth exchange programs, ESL or language programs, and government agencies around the world. Through a partnership with Middlebury Schools Abroad, our students can assist in running study abroad programs in Russia, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Spain, France, Cameroon, Egypt, Jordan, China, Japan, Chile, Mexico, and Israel.

We prepare professionals with the skills and knowledge to pursue international education careers across multiple sectors of the international education field, including managing study abroad programs, providing student services in ESL and intensive language programs, offering international student services, and serving in government programs such as Fulbright and Education USA.
