International Professional Service Semester

IPSS provides Monterey Institute graduate students with an immersive learning experience where they serve as graduate-level interns or consultants in an international organization.

What is International Professional Service Semester?

International Professional Service Semester (IPSS) is an immersive-learning experience integrating academic and professional work.  Students serve as junior professional staff members in an international organization while receiving academic credits for deliverables.  The IPSS program, offered by the Graduate School of International Policy & Management (GSIPM), is offered to Monterey Institute graduate students each spring semester.

For many students their IPSS experience has been an invaluable stepping-stone on the path to their future careers. The networking possibilities and international exposure IPSS can offer have become a tremendous resource in students’ professional development.
