Chaired by Kofi Annan, the Panel focuses on research and policy. Online publications include policy briefs and the annual Africa Progress Report.

ElectionGuide 
The International Foundation for Electoral Systems tracks current and upcoming elections in the region as well as providing data on past elections.

Ghana Center for Democratic Development
A nonprofit research organization based in Accra. The Center publishes research papers and election reports on their website.

Governance Matters IV: World Governance Indicators, 1996-2004
A World Bank project. The website provides a searchable database of indicators plus country data reports.

The Ibrahim Index
The Index measures governance quality in African nations. The Mo Ibrahim Foundation partners with London's School of Oriental and African Studies to discuss governance challenges.

International Parliamentary Union
The IPU provides information on parliamentary government. The PARLINE database gives an overview of parliaments in over 180 countries. The Women in Parliaments Database is a searchable database of publications. The IPU also publishes reports and surveys.

JSTOR

The JSTOR collection is an online collection of scholarly journals in the social sciences, humanities and ecology.  JSTOR focuses on older or archival collections.  The current 3-5 years of issues are not available.

Nigeria Elections Coalition
Supported by the MacArthur Foundation, this website posts voter information, polling, mapping and analysis of the 2011 elections in Nigeria.

A good database for research on any topic.  ProQuest Central searches academic journals, magazines, newspapers and dissertations with a high percentage of full text content.
