For over 60 years, the Summer Intensive Language Program (SIL) has helped thousands of students acheive their foreign language learning goals. Come join us for this rigorous and fast-paced program designed for highly motivated language learners.
Dates: June 16 - August 10, 2016
Applications Open December 1st
Students who complete the program will have a transcript available and will receive a completion certificate from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
In order to enable students to learn more about the language and the culture of their target language, SILP provides students with a wide variety of co-curricular activities. These activities, which often include field trips to Big Sur, San Francisco, Carmel and more, give students the chance to experience the culture and practice the language in an authentic setting.
In addition to in-class instruction led by native or near native speakers with advanced degrees and extensive teaching experience, the program also gives students access to tutors and language partners who provide additional opportunities for language practice.
It is possible to receive up to 8 semester units of undergraduate credit for the program, and MIIS graduate students can potentially satisfy 4 units of graduate-level language requirements. Levels are assessed in accordance with the proficiency guidelines of the American Council of the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
Program participants will have a transcript available and will receive a completion certificate from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
*All levels are determined based on enrollment. Certain levels are guaranteed while others remain tentatively offered until sufficient enrollment is reached. For more information, please contact email@example.com.
