What kind of city is Monterey?

Monterey is a small town on the Central Coast of California, about 120 miles (190 kms) south of San Francisco.
•  There are about 75,000 people on the Monterey Peninsula.

•  As one of the oldest cities in California, Monterey has a rich and interesting history. Surrounding the city, you can also find a number of unique outdoor sites such as Big Sur and the Monterey Bay. The region is well-known for bike riding, hiking, or just walking around enjoying the historic buildings.

•  Remember! Monterey is often windy in the summer time. Compared to other California cities such as Los Angeles and San Diego, Monterey is much cooler. Please be prepared and arrive with a light jacket and sweatshirt. Most people in Monterey dress warm in the morning then take off their jacket and sweatshirt in the afternoon when it's warm.
