I am a former Peace Corps volunteer in Bogota during larry's years there, and became friends with him and Jean. We had a great basketball and softball team because of larry, and I enjoyed every minute of knowing Jean and the kids. . Because of Larry, my former wife and I were allowed to stay in country when she became pregnant, and had our first daughter there.
Jean, as an aside, just last week i spoke to Dr. Bob Gifford - who is still at Yale and he and Karlee are doing well.
He will be missed by all of us who knew him -
My love to Jean and the children and the grand kids ----

A true gentleman
Larry has been described as a true gentleman. His actions spoke for his true nature. May he rest in peace. He will be missed by many who knew him and those who were impacted by his good works.

Passing of Mr. Horan
Am sad to read of Mr. Horan's passing. I wish I had had the pleasure of meeting him. I know his work shall continue at the Institute.
God Bless.

Larry Horan
What a Loss! If there were ever a "class act," it was Larry Horan! He was a man of goodness and dignity. He gave so much to the world around him, including his Peace Corps service and his service to MIIS!
