MIIS Student Addresses UN

Monterey Institute student Maiwand Rayhab (MPA Candidate, August 2009) will speak at the United Nations General Assembly’s Session on Education in Emergencies on Wednesday, March 18 at the invitation of General Assembly President Miguel d’Escoto Brockmann. Rayhab is a Fulbright Scholar and Hamilton Scholar currently working at Save the Children in Washington, D.C. as part of the "DPMI Plus" experience sponsored by the Development Project Management Institute, a special program of the Monterey Institute. Other speakers at the session will include Mr. Ban ki-moon, UN Secretary-General, the President of Burundi, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education, the Secretary General’s Representative on Children and Armed Conflict, and UNICEF’s deputy executive director.
