The Monterey Institute of International Studies was among four institutions cited in Sunday's New York Times as active participants in efforts to bring Iraqi students to the United States. The article, "Iraqi Offer of Scholarships Draws Crowds to U.S. College Recruiters," describes a January recruiting trip to Iraq in which the Monterey Institute was one of 22 institutions to accept the Iraqi government's invitation to participate, out of approximately 250 invitees. The Institute hopes to welcome several Iraqi students in the fall as a result of this initiative.
