Three MIIS Students on Three Continents Advocating for Peace
This summer, three Monterey Institute students are working as Peace Fellows for the Advocacy Project working on diverse projects in Ghana, Nepal and Peru.

The Institute for Policy Studies-sponsored Web journal Foreign Policy in Focus last week published a dialogue on U.S. counter-terrorism policy in South Asia featuring Sharad Joshi of the Monterey Institute. Joshi, who is a research associate with the Monterey Terrorism Research and Education Program (MonTREP) and an adjunct faculty member in the International Policy Studies program, argues for a coordinated Afghanistan-Pakistan strategy and stresses the ineffectiveness of the Pakistani government’s policy of cutting short-term deals with local tribal leaders.
