Johan Bergenäs, a research associate at the Monterey Institute’s James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, recently interviewed former chief United Nations weapons inspector Hans Blix for Foreign Policy magazine. Blix is most well-known for contradicting the Bush administration's claims regarding Saddam Hussein’s weapons program in the months leading up to the United State’s 2003 military action against Iraq; he previously served as a Swedish diplomat and foreign minister, and as director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from 1981 to 1997.
