Today’s edition of the Asia Times Online features an opinion piece by Dr. Jing-dong Yuan, director of the East Asia Nonproliferation Program at the Monterey Institute’s James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies, and an associate professor of International Policy Studies at the Institute. Dr. Yuan’s commentary explores the potential responses by the Peoples’ Republic of China to the recent missile testing conducted by North Korea, reviewing the PRC’s historical stance on the issue and the implications of recent developments in the region for regional stability and nuclear tensions.
