Nyia comes to the FMS fellowship after 9 years as a journalist and innovation consultant. She believes social enterprise to be the business of empathy. So, she encourages the use of triple-bottom-line strategies whenever possible and appropriate. She communicates, connects and contributes to this community in English, French and Spanish and, soon, in Portuguese to address issues of financial inclusion, economic empowerment, technology access and women's empowerment. She'll be working in Medellin, Colombia with an as-yet-unnamed start-up incubator supporting women as heads of households, helping them acquire the skills and knowledge they need to support themselves and their families.
