"I see myself as a bridge-builder, and want to connect people with opportunities that challenge their understandings of the world and broaden their minds..."

During her time at the Monterey Institute, Alyssa Poey specialized in international education. So, it was a natural fit for her to do her DPMI Practicum with the Institute of International Education. At IIE, Alyssa assisted with the administration of the Fulbright Program.

"Everyone at IIE was so passionate about their work and making a difference in students’ lives, it made it hard for me to imagine working in any other field," said Alyssa.

Alyssa is continuing to pursue her passion for international education at Stanford University, where she is the Enrollment Services Coordinator for the Bing Overseas Studies Program (BOSP). Alyssa's duties include managing and coordinating the application and enrollment process for all BOSP programs, advising students interested in pursuing overseas opportunities and performing institutional research.

"I see myself as a bridge-builder, and want to connect people with opportunities that challenge their understandings of the world and broaden their minds because I believe this can help change or guide behavior and attitudes to help make the world a better place, one person, one experience at a time."
