The Monterey Institute community celebrates 2012 as a year of great achievements and is looking forward to a new year filled with possibilities and promise.

Record Number of Employers Seeking to Hire MIIS Graduates at Annual Career Fair

A record 109 employers participated in the Career Fair this year, showing once again the relevance of the degree programs offered at the Monterey Institute.

TEDxMonterey Leads Sold-Out Audience at MIIS through “Sea Change”

The packed conference was treated to a day full of innovative ideas and provocative discussions about the wise management of marine resources. In addition to the 260 in-person participants, hundreds more participated in viewing parties or individually followed the live-streamed proceedings at their computers.

Record Number of MIIS Students Awarded Prestigious Fulbright Scholarship

- Six students from the Monterey Institute will receive U.S. Fulbright scholarship awards for the 2012-2013 academic year, the most in the Institute’s 57-year history and more on a per capita basis than every top-ten school in the 2012 US News & World Report college rankings.

MIIS Welcomes One of Its Largest Classes Ever, Launches Three New Degree Programs

- The new class of 420 students will experience an academic curriculum that continues to expand, with a new Master of Arts in International Education Management program debuting this fall, along with a new joint degree in Business Administration and International Environmental Policy, and another new joint degree in International Education Management and Public Administration. This will also be the Institute’s first year of participation in the Peace Corps Fellows program.

Center for Conflict Studies Celebrates Inaugural Week with Host of Events

- The Center focuses on the study and application of the right tools for managing conflicts, approaching them as a vehicle of change. The highlight of the inaugural week was a three-day conference titled “Religion and Gender: Identity, Conflict and Power.”
