“The best part about the MBA program at MIIS is its intimacy; that my professors are approachable and accessible.”
Adam Kirk is a Peace Corps Master's International (PCMI) student. He completed two out of three semesters at MIIS prior to serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Through his service he realized that his interests lie in entrepreneurship, small business development, and project management. He has plans to apply his interests to a career in international development.
On deciding where to pursue his MBA Adam says, “I chose MIIS because it was the best fit for me. I wanted to pursue an MBA through the Peace Corps Master's International program, and MIIS had a degree track that not only would enhance my experience as a volunteer, but would also provide the opportunity to further my interests upon completion of my service.”
Adam shares his thoughts on the MBA program, “For me, the best part about the MBA program at MIIS is its intimacy; that my professors are approachable and accessible, that my courses are small enough and courses are organized in such a way that I can get to know every student in my class, and that the program is set up in such a way as to help me start a career upon graduation.”
Adams further explains, “I feel that the Master's International MBA program provides an excellent starting point for those interested in working in international development.” Before leaving for Peace Corps, Adam had completed all of his core MBA courses including the International Business Plan. Upon his return, he is pursuing courses that will further his interests gained while in the Peace Corps, specifically entrepreneurship and project management.
