Undergrad: Bowdoin College

Fast Fact: Traveled to 10 countries on a 100-day trip around the world

"My peers in the IEP program hail from every corner of the planet...learning from them is my favorite part of the IEP program at the Monterey Institute."

James Knuckles chose the International Environmental Policy program at the Monterey Institute for one very simple yet profound reason.

"I could focus on international energy and climate change policy, something I could not do at any other university in the United States," he said.

As a dual degree student, James is also working on his Master's in Business Administration, focusing on international economics.  He wants to position himself as a future leader in what he believes is the 21st century's most pressing global issue--providing enough energy to support billions of people without destroying our planet.

"I chose the one school in the country that promised to teach me in real-world terms how to be the solution," he said. "The Monterey Institute has delivered on its promise."
