At the World Economic Forum Special Meeting on Economic Growth and Job Creation in the Arab World on October 21-23, King Abdullah II of Jordan honored the top ten finalists for his Youth Innovation and Achievement Award. One of those honored at the closing ceremony was Hany Amin (MBA ’12), an exchange student at the Monterey Institute from the American University in Cairo.

Hany was recognized for his work with the non-profit organization he founded in 2006, the Better World Foundation, improving job opportunities for over 5000 young Egyptians by offering language, computer and life skills training classes taught by a network of experienced volunteers.

“The motto of our organization is ‘Together We Can,’ and without the high dedication and commitment of our more than 3,000 members, I would not have been honored as one of the top ten innovators,” says the ever humble Hany. More than 1,700 organizations were in competition for the award and only the ten finalists were invited to attend the World Economic Forum meeting and be honored by King Abdullah.
