"Last fall the Environmental Defense Fund’s Rod Fujita spoke in one of my classes. It was a privilege to spend 11 weeks this summer working with Rod as a fellow in EDF's Ocean Innovations Think Tank."

As a Center for the Blue Economy Fellow with the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) in San Francisco, Colleen Beye (MAIEP '12) advised EDF’s offices in Latin America about utilizing existing fishing cooperatives to promote sustainable fishing. Colleen also traveled to Baja California for a few weeks to work with a local sea turtle conservation group and field test a cooperative scorecard.
