It was another banner—or rather, headline—week for experts at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS), as they were quoted in multiple different national media outlets while offering their insights on a wide variety of security issues.

The New York Times quoted Stephanie Lieggi, senior research associate in the East Asia Research Program at CNS, in the September 11 article “Secret Bid to Arm Qaddafi Sheds Light on Tensions in China Government.”

The Associated Press sought out the expertise of CNS Visiting Fellow Bilal Saab, a Middle East expert, for a September 16 news story “US Trying to Revive Program Seeking to Steer Libyan Scientists into Civilian Jobs” that was published in numerous national and international news outlets.

The Danger Room—a very popular blog sponsored by Wired magazine—published an article on September 16 called “U.S. Can’t Track Tons of Weapons-Grade Uranium, Plutonium” and featuring comments from Jeffrey Lewis, director the East Asia Nonproliferation Program at CNS.
