Dr. Jeffrey Bale, Monterey Institute professor and director of the Monterey Terrorism Research and Education Program, has been in high demand by media outlets in Europe and the United States recently.

On July 28, Professor Bale was interviewed live by America’s Radio News Network hosts Chris Salcedo and Lori Lundin about claims by U.S. officials suggesting the imminent demise of al-Qa’ida.  His conclusion was that those claims were not warranted.

That same day, July 28, Bale was interviewed at length by Morten Bertelsen of Dagens Næringsliv, the leading business daily in Norway.  The interview dealt with a number of issues related to the devastating terrorist attack carried out by the Anders Behring Breivik  in Norway earlier that month.

On July 30, Professor Bale was again interviewed by a Scandinavian journalist, this time by Josefin Pehrson of Svenska Dagbladet, the third largest newspaper in Sweden.  This interview was for a story about Breivik’s claims about a neo-Templar underground network.  His conclusion was that there was probably no truth to those claims.

On August 12, Professor Bale and MonTREP were yet again in the media spotlight when he was interviewed by Damian Trujillo of KNTV - NBC Bay Area News for an hour-long special that will be aired on September 11, 2011.
