MIIS Professor Helps Bring Wonder of Learning Exhibition to Spanish Speaking Audiences
July 12, 2011
Continuing the long tradition of Monterey Institute faculty, students and staff providing various language services to the people of Monterey County, professor Esther M. Navarro created the audio Spanish translation of a new exhibition at the National Steinbeck Center in Salinas. Her contribution and that of the Monterey Institute of International Studies is recognized with a sign at the entrance to the exhibition.
The exhibition, The Wonder of Learning – The Hundred Languages of Children, is a celebration of the powerful learning that occurs in young children and the Reggio Emilia approach to education. Visitors are immersed in stories from the work and everyday experiences of schools that have embraced this approach. The Wonder of Learning exhibition will be at the National Steinbeck Center until November 15 and is free and open to the public. A number of professional development opportunities will be offered in conjunction with the exhibition.
