Chinese Official Extends Gratitude to MIIS Students and the Institute
January 31, 2011
On January 26, the Chinese consul general in San Francisco held a national reception to celebrate what is considered China’s most significant holiday. For the first time, five Monterey Institute students were invited to attend as representatives of China’s overseas students in the United States.
The invitation was a great honor to the students as well as for the Monterey Institute. During the reception Mr. Gao Zhangsheng, the Chinese consul general, and his wife had a personal meeting with the MIIS students. According to Zhenshuai Liu, president of the MIIS Chinese Students Association, Mr. Gao extended his gratitude to the Monterey Institute for training so many highly qualified Chinese graduates. Many of them are serving both the Chinese and American governments and promoting communication and cooperation between the two countries.
