The Monterey Institute of International Studies campus is buzzing with creativity, as evidenced by the group of students who came together last year to establish the Artists without Borders club. Still, few would have guessed the amount of enthusiasm their now-annual art show would generate. Guests at the opening night reception on November 19th were treated to live music ranging from folk to Chinese rock music and fusion belly dances, along with a display of photography from students’ travels and work across the globe. Many of the students sold arts and crafts to fund other creative activities such as building greenhouses in Peru (Team Peru).

“We were really happy to have such a great turn-out,” says Lucy Jodlowska, founder and president of the Artists without Borders club. This year 23 students participated in the event, hailing from 21 different countries. The exhibit is at the Holland Center on the Monterey Institute campus and will be open until December 14th.
