Dr. Avner Cohen, CNS Senior Fellow
NPR’s All Things Considered Interviews CNS Expert Dr. Avner Cohen
July 7, 2010
On July 6, as news headlines focused on tensions in the relationship between the US and Israel, and President Obama obliquely referenced Israel’s nuclear weapons program, nuclear expert Dr. Avner Cohen was interviewed on the popular NPR news show All Things Considered. Dr. Cohen, a senior fellow at the Monterey Institute’s James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS), is widely known for his path-breaking history of Israel’s nuclear program. His forthcoming book is called The Worst-Kept Secret: Israel’s Bargain with the Bomb.
Dr. Cohen’s expert opinion has been sought after in the international media as tensions between the US and Israel have increased in light of the controversial Israeli blockade of the Gaza strip. He has been quoted recently in the Washington Times, The Guardian, and The Jerusalem Post, as well as a number of Web sites devoted to international security such as armscontrolwonk.com, News That Matters and Tehranbureau.
