May 7, 2010
When the stock market dropped almost a thousand points in half an hour amid concerns about debt levels in Greece and other European nations, local NBC affiliate KSBW-8 (Monterey-Salinas) called on the faculty at the Monterey Institute of International Studies for expert commentary. On Friday morning, May 7, Professor Moyara Ruehsen of the Institute’s Graduate School of International Policy and Management was interviewed by KSBW news anchor Dale Julin during an extended segment focusing on the global economic situation. Professor Ruehsen holds a Ph.D. in international economics from Johns Hopkins University and teaches courses on international trade and finance, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing policies.
