May ’09 Institute Graduate Interprets for Former President Clinton
December 11, 2009
Like many of her fellow students in the Monterey Institute’s Conference Interpretation program, Paula Manrique (MACI '09) hoped that her international career would give her the opportunity to meet a variety of interesting people from different parts of the world while facilitating dialogue between them. She was delighted to learn that her first assignment with her new employer in Spain would be interpreting at a November 6 conference organized by the Andalusian School of Economics in Sevilla – and then startled to learn that she would be interpreting for the special guest featured at this conference of 700 businesspeople, former U.S. President Bill Clinton. Paula reports that despite a few pre-event butterflies, everything went very smoothly on the day of the event – as evidenced by this photo!
