A posted video of this event would have been a great review for students who are interested in pursuing this degree, or even brushing up on languages, even if there were some mistakes.
I have studied over 13 languages, frequently utilizing 5 in my daily research. Having actual events like this to consider where MIIS would help increase my ability, especially video taping an event like this, would be a GREAT practical application of what you can do with language. It would also greatly affect my reconsideration in pursuing at least summer intensive classes again, especially if a T& I event were incorporated as part of tesing for the upper classes, or at LEAST as an option for practicing this art. It certainly would give the intensive summer language classes a BIG PRACTICAL EDGE over other foreign language programs!
I hope MIIS might consider incorporating this idea as an elective for the summer program, or at least facilitate practice sessions that could be incorporated into the program to evaluate one's ability in this regard.
Mahalo for your kind consideration!
